Soundbreaking Stories from the Cutting Edge of Recorded Music

The Beatles Christmas Album

Remembering Elvis Presley 40 years after his death

John Lennon once said: "if there hadn't been an Elvis, there wouldn't have been a Beatles!" Elvis sold more records then any entertainer in history. I have always loved playing Elvis songs, since I was a kid, and have always really dug his voice. Nobody ever sung and performed quite like he did. He was the coolest...

Gregg Allman, of The Allman Brothers Band, Dead at 69

O.K. Here we go again. Another music legend dies. (Another sign of the times?) The Allman Brothers Band were another big musical influence, from when I was a kid. Gregg Allman, was like the ultimate Blues/Rock singer (and a very good songwriter). And Duane Allman (the co-founder of the group) with Dicky Betts, were such an innovative and creative guitar playing team, surpassed by none. Not to even mention, the great bass playing of Berry Oakley. Together, (especially in those early days), they created such powerful rock n' roll music, like no other group before them or since. The band however, had its share of tragedy, starting with the death of legendary guitarist Duane Allman, (another early big influence on my own guitar playing), who was also one of the greatest slide (and studio) guitar players who ever lived. (You can also hear some of his fantastic guitar work with Eric Clapton, on the Derek and The Dominoes Layla album for example). It was even sometimes said by his fans, (including myself), that he could actually make the guitar cry! And you can definitely hear that on the band's early albums. After the tragic deaths of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley however, I think the band sadly, (despite the great success of the Brothers and Sisters album), sorta' like lost part of their soul, and were never quite the same, in my opinion anyway. Although, Gregg Allman and The Allman Brothers Band (including Dicky Betts for that matter), still remained living legends in their own right, and continued to have a very significant following, and much success...

Paul McCartney

O.K. I am dedicating this post to Paul McCartney. Wow, (even though I never met him, at this time in my life anyway), having grown-up with his music and all, he almost seems like an old friend. Especially, since he reminds me so much of an old friend who I did know: 'John Sullivan.' (God rest his soul). So much so, that it approaches being extraordinary. (Of course, I mention John in other places on this website as well). In fact, speaking about extraordinary, (and eerielly coincidental), that I just can't help mentioning here, is that I indeed, also had this absolutely surreal dream of John last night, that seemed so authentic, that I almost had to pinch myself when I woke-up! (Ever have a dream like that?)

So, it's actually kinda' funny, that I just happened to inadvertently come across this video of Paul McCartney just now on YouTube. As, I also know, that John would have probably gotten as big a kick out of it as I did. You see, The Beatles were such a big influence on us when we were kids, especially. Brings back so many memories. (So, I would like to dedicate this post to you too John). Enjoy...

Paranormal Witness - The Long Island Terror

As I mentioned in one of my posts on Blogger, there were allot of strange things that happened on Long Island over the years. And of course, almost everyone by now is most likely familiar with The Amityville Horror Story. Just happened to catch this particular show on the Syfy channel this morning, (but wasn't able to finish watching the entire episode), and thought it was pretty interesting, to say the least...

I personally do believe myself (for reasons that I am not going to get into here), that Demonic oppression is real, but that there are different levels. (In fact, many of the Saints, like Padre' Pio for instance, were actually known to allegedly do battle with evil spirits and cast them out, as legend goes). The first level, is where it may use certain individuals who are sorta' like open to this kind of influence by their very own nature, to begin with, to target those who they may consider a threat in some way, or maybe also for other reasons. Some people may not even be aware as to why they are being targeted, or what these individuals (who are targeting them) may really be into, or how deep it may really go. (Knowledge is power). Either way, anything that deliberately attempts to negatively impact another persons life in a malevolent manner and rob them of their peace of mind, and/or cause them harm in some way is evil, regardless. And quite often, even criminal. The Demonic Oppression represented in this particular story, is of the next level, and where the Demonic actually manifests itself in a supernatural manner, because there were actually individuals who sorta' like opened a portal in some way it would seem, by practicing Satanic rituals that they allegedly performed on the property itself at one time. (I believe there are other things that can attract and foster demonic activity as well, within a certain location, or within a community, property, or even a Church for example; such as deep corruption, conspiracy, murder, etc. and will usually have negative effects on the community itself for instance, in different ways, and may not be as visceral, sensationalistic, and conspicuous, as what is depicted here, yet can still be discerned. But that is beyond the scope of this post). In fact, these kind of stories are really not that uncommon. Although, this is obviously an extreme case, if true. As I also believe myself, that there is allot of truth in the saying: "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn't exist." Here's just one example for instance: 'Nuclear Proliferation.' I mean, think about it. We have, just say between The United States and Russia alone, enough nuclear weapons to destroy the entire world about 100 times over! Why? It makes absolutely no sense. I'm sorry to say, but if that is not demonic, then freakin' nothing is! Not to even mention, other things that should also just be simple common sense. Such as, the greed, corruption, and deceit of those leaders who hypocritically present themselves as followers of Christ, yet it does not bother them in the least, that they don't even feel a responsibility towards their constituents losing their life savings, their homes, and even their very lives, because they cannot afford health care, when it is in their power to do something about it, (and fight for them to at least have access to the same coverage that they have), and their deliberate (and selfish) blindness (and those of others) to such things. I mean, just think about this one. How many years are we allotted here on this earth? How long is our life span? Not long man. And no one can take their money or whatever material possessions they have acquired with them when they die. What will they say then to the God who they claim to believe in? The very God who said: "he who is greatest among you must serve the needs of the rest." And, "he who is given much, from him much will be required"? Among many other things along those lines? Once again, if such deliberate (self-centered) blindness and deceit, is not demonic, then nothing is. I will never forget a sermon I heard as a kid, by someone by the name of Bishop Fulton Sheen (who was by no means a liberal Catholic), where he said, there will be many people who will be surprised at who did and who did not make it to Heaven, and maybe even that they themselves made it, and those who they thought would be there instead, were not there. Enough said. Too deep...

Genesis - Supper's Ready (Live)

Way ahead of their time. Including, some pretty deep, abstract, (and even biblical-like) lyrical imagery, that always kinda' reminded me of the Easter holiday in a way...

Rock 'N' Roll Legend Chuck Berry Dies At Age 90

One of the very first concerts I ever attended as a kid was a concert featuring Chuck Berry. He was considered by many to be the father of rock n' roll...

6 Second Love - Whitney Woerz

I like this - Absolutely brilliant music video, and impeccably produced track...
